Naval Architecture
PB Design has been developing efficient hullforms for more than 55 years, and has an extended database of hundreds of vessels of all sizes and types, both power and sail.
The studio creates hullforms using CAD programs, to be reviewed on paper (and scale models, if required) for technical fairness and aesthetic perfection. Our designers work many hours to give the hullform the optimum balance among speed, stability, manoeuvrability, and seakeeping. We give much attention to weight calculations and determination of centre of gravity and buoyancy, to ensure proper trim and freeboards. And our engineers work out solutions to questions of speed, running angle, engine power, rudder shape, stabilizers, trim tabs, propellers, exhausts, and more.
If required, PB Design will oversee tank tests at the renowned MARIN institute in Wageningen to predict speed, trim, and seakeeping characteristics of an all-new design.
